Locally Sourced - We work with local family-owned businesses to further exceptional products, guaranteeing the freshest tastes of home! We foster tradition and cherish recipes in hopes of bringing the highest quality products directly to you! Our gelato is made fresh daily and our coffee is roasted by us here in Mount Pleasant! We try to source all beverages locally! Join us and see that there is a treat for everyone!

This cafe has graced millions of guests from around the world with the highest quality Specialty Treats. Our Story

I’m Carolina Jewett, and alongside my husband Kevin, we are the proud co-owners of Tínto y Crema on Vendue Range, the newly opened Tínto Café & Provisions on John Street, and Bootlegger Coffee Co.

For us, coffee is more than just a business; it’s a legacy. We are continuing a family tradition that began right here in Charleston many years ago. My family has been roasting premium imported coffee locally for generations, starting with the Coffee Roasters of Charleston and the beloved Café Rainbow. These establishments laid the groundwork for a deep-rooted passion for quality and a commitment to our community.

Kevin and I are thrilled to carry this heritage forward, infusing it with new energy and creativity. Our goal is to bring globally inspired offerings to the heart of Charleston, while staying true to the traditions that have shaped our journey. We believe in the power of great coffee, exceptional food, and warm hospitality to create meaningful connections.

We are especially eager to further connect with Charleston’s concierge and hospitality community, along with your guests. Our offerings are designed with the needs of hotels and concierges in mind—from charcuterie catering that adds a touch of elegance to any event, to our freshly roasted coffee beans that promise an unforgettable experience with every cup, and, of course, our artisanal gelato that brings a delightful finish to any meal.

Growing up, I had the incredible opportunity to spend my summers alternately in France and Colombia. Those years were filled with the rich experiences of visiting local boulangeries and enjoying long, leisurely lunches with my grandparents. These moments left a lasting impression on me, shaping not only my palate but also my deep appreciation for the art of food and drink.

Today, I draw upon those cherished memories to create the unique experience we offer at Tínto. It’s more than just a café; it’s a place where the warmth of those family gatherings, the flavors of different cultures, and the attention to detail that I learned in those bakeries and markets come together. We strive to bring that same sense of joy and connection to every customer who walks through our doors.
